Patternfish is a new site for pattern downloads. All of the patterns are for sale, as opposed to free. Many are from individual designers, and many are out of print patterns from yarn companies.
I am working on getting my patterns on the site - only the Woven Braid Ski Hat is there so far, but the others will be there soon. Patternfish is a great place to check out many different patterns easily. You can search for patterns in a multitude of ways, by garment type, yarn size, needle size, and on and on. This is really a pattern only site as opposed to a magazine, so there are no articles, product reviews, etc. Just patterns that have been professionally written and checked. Give it a try, will ya?

More TNNA

I read that you are not suppose to take pictures in the display hall.... but since this was the booth I was working in, I think it is probably OK. I didn't take pictures of anybody elses booth, or of any of the "knitting elite" - though I will admit to minor stalking. We were right next to the Ghost Knitters. They really seemed to be the talk of the show. We were joking with them that we had thier whole speil memorized, but you should really check out their site, because they have a great business model that could be very beneficial for many yarn companies, yarn Stores, ready to wear desingers, and designers in general.
I also got to meet Jess, Casey, and Mary Heather of Ravelry, You could just hear the buzz as they approached. Exhibitors and buyers alike were so excited to meet them and chat with them. What a great community they are building for all of us. Like everything new, there may be some unintended consequenses, but for the most part, Ravelry is a good thing.

My First TNNA
Wow!!! TNNA is almost overwhelming. I am here with my friend/business associate Kathy Oliver of Scarlet Fleece. I have completed 5 designs for Kathy to support her line of lovley hand painted yarns and roving. This is Kathy's first trip to TNNA as a yarn company, though she has been here many times for her yarn store. Now she is out of the yarn store business so that she can concentrate of dying and distributing her wonderful yarns.
As for me, I am slightly star struck, meeting fellow AKD members, famous designers, bloggers, podcasters, and publishers. It is all very inspirational to see all these people that are fully immersed in the yarn, knitting and crochet business. The designs are just flowing in my brain right now....I should have brought a sketch pad...
Empire Waist Tunic
Career Cabled Cardigan
I had a cardigan in the Fashion Show on Friday night and Kathy had a scarf. They were modeled together. We were both a bit nervous, but we were happy with the results. She wrote some nice orders on Saturday, and she still has all day today and Monday to sell more. I am making contact with as many publishers and yarn stores as I can to get more design business. This is a great opportunity for both of us. Thanks Kathy for cutting me in on TNNA!
The patterns are available through retailers listed on the Scarlet Fleece website. Ask you locar yarn store to order the yarn and the patterns. There are 3 more designs... done except for the typesetting. I will add pictures as soon as they are finished.
