So far, this has been a successful football season for the players in my house. My 6th graders team won the City Championship, and my older son's high school team won on Friday. That means they will progress to the Semi State game next Friday. They play Evansville Reitz, a team that I have a personal (emotional) reaction to because they were my high schools biggest rival. They were always great at football, and we never quite measured up. So now I am hoping that we give them a collosal whopping! Nothing like holding a grudge for 30 years...but oh how satisfying that win could be. Did I mention that they are 13-0 and we are 11-2? Go Irish!
The Colts are getting a whopping themselves right now - but I am confident that things will turn around in the second half. It is just starting.
Knitting classes are really fun. It is very gratifying to see people begin to understand how it works and gain confidence as they go. I have 2 groups, the young girls, and the Mom's (some of them are pretty young too.) The young girls are not having as much luck showing up to the classes, but are doing well once they are here. The mom's are more reliable. They are also doing well and are really enjoying it. I think at least a few of them will want to (join the cult) continue on to other projects. Our kids all go to a school without buses, so we spend more hours in the car than most. I am not advocating knitting and driving, but I do think it is a great thing to do in the carpool line (when you are in "park"), or waiting for sports practice or piano lessons to end. You know, lately I have taken to listening to a book on my Ipod, knitting, and picking up the kidos all at once. Multitasking is a good thing. I
have stopped knitting a stoplights. I figured I was pushing my luck on that one.
