addendum

Oh yeah, I got a pedicure today too. It was a good day - my feet feel wonderful. I didn't have to cook either, my neice and her fiance had a cookout. I didn't know she could cook anything but Mac and Cheese, but turns out she can!

Eloise

I finished Jane Ellison's Eloise today - even bought buttons, and got them sewn on. I find that if I don't do my finishing pretty soon after I am done knitting that I would tend to put it off for a long (I mean LOOOOONG time.) I don't have the finished picture taken yet - but the sweater is done. So I do feel pretty good right now.

This is my "knitting (or whatever I want to do) weekend. All of the "boys" of the house are on a Scout Hike, so I am home alone. There is not much I like better than my occasional weekends with the house to myself - solitude - no practices to drive anyone to, no brotherly arguments, no husband to make sure that I watch fishing and car shows. I wouldn't want to do this all the time, but every once and a while, it sure is nice. And....I am watching Fargo, which I have wanted to watch for years, but I knew hubby would think it ridiculous, and it isn't kid appropriate. Despite lots of violence, it is hilarious - maybe I have a twisted side - ya? Last night was Catch and Release with Jennifer Garner and a really cute guy who's name I didn't recognize. I like that one too.

Next knitting? I am working on several designs to submit and just submitted 2 designs. One of them, I have already knitted up, and the other I still have to write the pattern and convert to all sizes. I know I don't have to do that if they don't accept my design, but if they do, I want to have it all ready, because that is the hard part for me. I don't want to screw it up and make mistakes if I have to do it with a deadline. I hear they often change design elements and/or yarn though. I just feel like I should have the basics written down. I can always modify if needed.

Now I am going to watch epidsodes 5-8 of season 5 "24" - I am almost caught up with TV.

WIP

I have been a busy knitter and designer this week. I am using my cold as an excuse to stay home and knit, and submit designs. I just submitted to Knitty for the winter (hopefully they won't REJECT me this time!) I am also working on a few things to submit to print magazines. I ordered some yarn for one of those projects, so my work on that is halted until it arrives (maybe today!!!!)

Since I am "on hold," I started a project with some stashed Noro Blossom. I have had the yarn and the pattern in mind for over a year, and since I found myself without a project on the needles and time on my hands, I started Eloise by Jane Ellison. It a fun, but simple pattern, and is going quickly (since I have a cold and I need to stay at home and knit.) The back is now done though the picture shows it about halfway done. I have started on the left front, and I hope to finish that today. I am trying not to feel guilty that I really should be cleaning the bathrooms. I may try and sneak that in sometime today - I have to take a break once and a while, don't I?

Colts Win

I know this isn't a football blog, but Colts Win!!! When you live in the home of the Super Bowl Champions, it is hard not to get caught up in all the excitement. Yesterday the NFL kicked off the season here. They blocked off the circle downtown, had a big free concert with Kelly Clarkson and Faith Hill (and some other group that I guess I am too old to know about, ugh.) People left work at 2:00 to start the party. My husband even left work at 5:00 because no one else was there, and no one was at the other offices that he had to call. He couldn't work - he thought it was ridiculous. Lighten up and enjoy the fun, will ya. High School football tonight against our big rival. It is suppose to thunderstorm - but maybe it will miss us. Go Irish!

Just finished a design, got the sample all knitted up and am blocking it now. I am ready to take pictures soon and get it submitted before my deadline. Unfortunately, I can't share any pictures at this point. Maybe later along with the info on where it is published. I will just keep my fingers crossed.

Labor Day Weekend

What a wonderful weekend. The weather was perfect - warm with low humidity - no rain. We went camping at our friend's lake along with a group of good friends and relatives. We jet skied, and my kids almost beat me in a race - ALMOST!! Not yet though. I have a few more good years left!

The dogs got to go too. The fabulous flyers! This is a newly acquired skill, but I think they are doing really well at it. Best of all, they were really, really tired, which is always a good perk of taking them camping. They are still sleeping now! The boys are just about as tired, and I admit, I am too.

I did get some knitting done as well. It is all design work that I can't show on the blog, but I am very happy to be making some progress and can't wait to get my submissions in. Then the waiting begins! Hope to be able to show it to you soon or direct you to the place that it is published.
