Ha! I have started teaching knitting. It gives me another excuse to knit, I can help perpetuate this great hobby (or way of life), and I can make a little moolah at the same time. I had my first class with 2 students a week ago Sunday, and am starting another with 8 students tomorrow. I hope that 8 is not too many.... but I really think it will be fine. Most of the 8 I at least know casually, but there are a few that are new to me. They are all parents from the school my kids attend, so we are all on the same schedule, and basically on the same wave length. But as you know, all knitters approach things differently, so it will be interesting to see their knitting personalities emerge.
On another fun note, I took 6 11 year old boys trick or treating tonight. Willy Wonka (the original Gene Wilder version, not the creepy Johnny Depp version), a cross dressing rock star, a clown, a football player (a real stretch), an army guy, and a guy with a big afro (or lots of chest hair depending on when you looked at him.) They are getting to the end of their trick or treating years.... I guess they have a few years left, but they are growing up.
They are all on the 6th grade football team, and they just won their City semi final game last night. I, and all of the parents, are really proud of them. But I can't help but wonder if we parents are more invested in it than the team. The kids really like it, and they are having fun, but I think the parents will be more upset than the boys if they lose. Maybe we won't have to find out. City Finals on Sunday. Go Tigers!

Best of luck with the teaching gig. How much do you charge? (I have someone who has asked me to give her private lessons)
Blessings! (coffee sometime?)
